



UPDATE: The RENTAL Act successfully completed the congressional review period. The RENTAL Act is now DC Law Number L26-0080 and has an effective date of December 31, 2025. GDL expects publication of the Notice of Law Effectiveness in the D.C. Register in the next two weeks.

Daniels (2024-LTB-007847), Judge Julie Becker holds that a rental housing accommodation financed with the use of low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) is not entitled to an exemption from the rent stabilization (rent control) provisions of the Rental Housing Act of 1985, as amended (D.C.
