Privacy Policy

The following Privacy Policy sets forth the website information collection and management practices of Greenstein DeLorme & Luchs, P.C. (GDL). If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Use, then please do not use the GDL website.

1. GENERAL

The Privacy Policy describes the personally identifiable information and non-personal information which GDL collects in connection with your use of the GDL website and how that information will be treated by GDL. Please note that the Privacy Policy in no way addresses or effects any other information which may be exchanged between you and GDL or any of its attorneys, whether such information is provided in the course of an attorney/client relationship, is gathered by GDL on behalf of a client with respect to a particular matter, or otherwise. A user of the GDL website does not have to provide any personally-identifiable information in order to browse the website; but GDL may collect personally-identifiable information submitted by you if you request to receive GDL notifications, newsletters or advisories.

2. USE OF INFORMATION

GDL may use the personally-identifiable information you submit to send you materials that you have requested, respond to your email questions or comments or your request for consideration for employment, provide you notifications, newsletters and advisories which you may have opted to receive and as otherwise set forth in the Privacy Policy. Subject to Section 8 of the Terms of Use, GDL does not share information with any third parties without consent unless (A) such disclosure is made to law enforcement officials as GDL deems appropriate and as permitted by law, (B) disclosure is otherwise required by law, (C) such disclosure is to protect the security of GDL’s website users or other third parties, or (D) such disclosure is made to a GDL service provider. GDL will only provide access to any of your personally-identifiable information to GDL service providers to the extent reasonably necessary to enable them to perform their services.

3. CONSENT

Subject to your ability to opt-out of receiving GDL notifications, newsletters or advisories as set forth below, and subject to the Terms of Use and the terms of the Privacy Policy, you hereby consent to GDL’s collection, processing and transfer of your non-personal information and personally-identifiable information; it being agreed that you consent to the transfer of your personal information to jurisdictions that may have different standards of privacy protection than as may be required under your local laws and regulations.

4. COOKIES

A “cookie” is a small computer data file sent to your web browser from a particular web site’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies allow for the monitoring of how many people are utilizing the GDL website, how frequently and the length of browsing time of the user and other non-personal information. Many web browsers permit you to reject cookies and you may use the GDL website with that feature of the browser enabled, but if you choose to reject all cookies, you may be unable to use some of the features and content on the GDL website. When you visit the GDL website, information about your browser type, domain name from which you gain access, operating system and IP address are collected. This information is used by GDL solely for our internal purposes in managing the GDL website.

5. OPT OUT/ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You have a right to a copy of the personal information which GDL holds about you, and you have a right to have that information revised if it is incorrect. If you would like to receive a copy of the information GDL has collected about you via the GDL website, then please send a request for that information via the Contact Us page, and, subject to professional and legal requirements, we will make reasonable efforts to comply with your request. If the personal information GDL has for you is not complete or is not correct, please let us know. If you wish to subscribe to, or opt out of receiving, GDL notifications, newsletters or advisories, then please make such request via the Contact Us page, and we will modify our distribution list accordingly. Furthermore, you may at any time unsubscribe from our email publications and other communications by following the unsubscribe directions which are included in each email notification, newsletter or advisory that we send.

6. SECURITY

GDL uses industry standard website security measures in order to protect against the misuse or alteration of information provided via the GDL website. GDL is not responsible for any unauthorized access to information by hackers or others who have obtained such access through illegal means.

7. MATERIAL CHANGES

GDL reserves the right to modify the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the content of the GDL website as GDL deems appropriate. Please check the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy frequently. Continued use of the GDL website signifies your assent to the provisions of the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. Except to the extent that a change is mandated by law, GDL will post any material changes to the Privacy Policy prior to the changes taking effect. GDL will provide email notification to any user who has provided personally-identifiable information to GDL via the website of any material changes to the Privacy Policy that affects such user, which email notice will include information as to how GDL will handle personally-identifiable information from and after the date on which the changes take effect.
