Jim Sadowski has extensive experience in the area of commercial litigation, with an emphasis on commercial landlord and tenant matters. Mr. Sadowski’s litigation practice includes representation in all three local jurisdictions (DC, MD and VA), the collection of delinquent accounts, and the representation of creditors in bankruptcy matters. Mr. Sadowski also helps guide clients through the litigation process and counsels clients on how to structure their leases and other written agreements involving real estate transactions in order to avoid litigation. Mr. Sadowski has helped clients resolve hundreds of lease and contract disputes and successfully negotiated multiple office and retail leases. Mr. Sadowski’s trial experience in representing real estate owners and developers includes numerous bench trials and jury trials, one of which involved the dismissal of structural defect claims that were asserted against a local developer.
Noteworthy
Mr. Sadowski has served as an instructor with the BOMI Institute Property Manager's Course on Commercial Law, and he has taught classes on drafting Virginia commercial leases. Mr. Sadowski is the founder and former Commissioner of the Capital Coed Soccer League. Mr. Sadowski is also the President of Metropolitan D.C.– Virginia Soccer Association, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation that serves as the local governing body for adult amateur soccer in D.C. and Virginia.
