Monic Halsey represents clients in the development, acquisition, sale and financing of commercial real estate projects primarily in the District of Columbia. Ms. Halsey represents institutional clients, including Fannie Mae, in structured financing transactions. Ms. Halsey also represents clients in the development of multifamily housing projects funded through programs administered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and state housing finance authorities. Ms. Halsey’s business entity practice involves the creation and negotiation of articles of organization, limited liability company agreements, articles of incorporation, bylaws, certificates of limited partnership, limited partnership agreements, and other business entity documents. Ms. Halsey drafts and negotiates loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgage and security documents, guaranty agreements and other ancillary loan documents. Ms. Halsey’s real estate acquisition and development practice involves the negotiation and drafting of purchase agreements, development agreements, easements and restrictive covenants. She also reviews title reports and surveys and negotiates resolutions to title issues and other due diligence items.
Ms. Halsey has acted as President of the Texas Southern University College Chapter of the NAACP and was also a Board Member of the Houston Branch of the NAACP.
