Biography: 

Raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois Ms. Androh-Powell attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana where she graduated cum laude with a bachelors degree in political science in 1998.  She received her law degree in 2001 from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.

 

For three years, Ms. Androh-Powell was the assistant general counsel for over 60 housing cooperatives and condominium associations she represented in the Chicago-land area.  She was very active in the advocacy of affordable housing in the City of Chicago.  Many of the housing cooperatives she represented were affordable housing as a result of various HUD subsidies or Below Market interest rate financing through HUD.
